Feeding the Ducks

We took Jake over to a local pond to see the ducks.  We didn't have a lot of luck with them coming close.  But we did chuck half a loaf of bread at them.  I think Jake was confused that we had his car on the grass or something...he just kind of had a confused look on his face the entire time we were there.  Oh well!

Standing Tall...but not walking yet

Jake is sure standing tall and moving around on all of the furniture, but man, he will not walk on his own!  I'm so anxious to see him walk.  I know I shouldn't rush it, but he's 14 months old!

Playing in the Cupboard.....Again!

Jake has a million toys (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration...)  But, he has a lot of toys!  So, where does he want to play...in the cupboards.  He loves getting in the tupperware cupboard, maybe because it is the only one I actually "let" him get in.

Visit with Jake's Birthmom

We had a visit with Jake (and Layney's) birthmom and grandma.  We are so eternally grateful for her selfless sacrifice.  A day does not go by that we do not think of her and the love she had for Jake to give him the life she knew she could not provide.  We took some pictures this time.  Don't mind Jake's "blue" mouth in a few of them - he enjoyed a blue sucker at the restaurant...

Our Wedding Anniversary - 4 Years!

Steve and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on September 19th.  What an amazing 4 years it has been!  We have had our trials, of course.  But, we have had more blessings than we could have imagined.  We both decided to take the day off work so we could enjoy some time with one another.  We headed to Wendover on Tuesday night, leaving Jake with my sister.  Oh how I miss that boy when I'm not with him, but I don't worry a bit about him when he is with my sister - such a blessing.  We had a lot of fun in Wendover...ending with a BIG WIN!  So fun to be on our way home and decide to put one more dollar in the slot machine...needless to say, we came home with some CASH in our pockets!  We left that afternoon, picked up our boy, and headed to Red Lobster for dinner.  What a fun day with my sweetheart!  Love him more today than I did 4 years ago.  He truly is my best friend!

More Teething...

...makes for a pretty ornery boy!  We just had #9 break through.  I know it has got to hurt so I can understand why he can be a bit cranky.  He's got a pretty good mouthful now.  It looks like a few more are ready to come in any day.  Oh ya, and I have been bitten a few times...ouch!  Man, that kid has some strength.  Most of the time I get it when I stick my fingers in his mouth (so I can't really blame him)...but I'm usually trying to take something out of his mouth - cause EVERYTHING goes in his mouth these days!  He sure has a cute smile though :)

CT Scan - Normal

Jake had his CT Scan at Primary Children's Medical Center on Wednesday, September 5th.  He was absolutely perfect for the scan.  I laid him down on the table, he looked at me with inquisitive eyes, but never once cried or got upset.  He just kind of looked around the room like, "what is going on?"...  The tech said he hoped all of his patient's could be as good as Jake.  It took all of about 5 minutes, and he was done!  We got the results later than afternoon...he's perfect, just as we thought :)  He just has a big head, LOL!  The Doc said, just a bigger head to hold his big brain (implying he was smart!).  We love our kiddo...(even if he has been a bit naughty today).
