Cousin Sleepover

While Katie was in town for her baptism, we decided to have all of the kiddos over for a sleepover. We had Kaitlyn, Maxwell, Lexi, Zoey, Kelsie and Jake. What a fun night! They are all so good when they are here and just love to be together. We watched a few movies (Bug's Life & Monsters), got pizza for dinner, ate yummy popcorn and had lots of fun! And of course, the kids got lots of Jakey time.

Kaitlyn Gets Baptized

The 2nd weekend in February, the Loder's came to Utah so Kaitlyn could be baptized by her Grandpa. She asked Uncle Steve to confirm her. What a special day for our family. We love the Loder's and are always excited to see them (they live in California - so it isn't as often as we'd like). Kaitlyn was super excited to be baptized and we were glad her parents decided to have it in Utah. Of course, they just all eat Jake up when they are here.

Macey is 3

Our beautiful puppy Macey turned 3 years old on February 6th. She is a good, good, dog - we couldn't imagine our family without her in it.

Jake's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, February 5th, Steve gave Jake a "name and blessing" at our ward. Of course, Jake was the sweetest boy and was so good. Steve (& the Spirit) did a wonderful job giving our son a special blessing. I am very grateful for Steve and the life he leads to be able to participate in some of these great blessings the Gospel offers. He is a good man that cares a lot about people. He is also a wonderful Daddy to our Jakey. Some of the things I remember Steve blessing Jake with were that he was a very special part of our family, and went through a lot to get to our family. That he would be a peacemaker in our home. That he would grow up healthy and strong and remain close to his Savior.

Grandma & Grandpa Knighton

My dad came to town for Jake's Sealing & Blessing. Here is a cute (blurry) picture of my mom and dad with their 3 grandkids.

Jake's Temple Sealing

On Saturday, February 4th, we took Jake to the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple in South Jordan, Utah, to have him sealed to us for eternity. What a truly miraculous day! We LOVED every minute of it. Jake was the perfect little boy the entire day. Our experience was full of love, gratitude and the Spirit. Such a special experience! I will be eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me beyond belief and allowing me to be this sweet boy's mommy. I love him more than life itself, and truly can't imagine my life without him. He is ours now and forever, and I couldn't be happier!

Adoption Finalization Day

On Friday, January 27th, we got to go to court to finalize Jake's adoption. What a wonderful day! It was one of those things that just felt like we could check off the list to get us to our "eternal" goal. Our attorney was fabulous to work with the entire process. The Judge was nice and thoughtful. It was all of about 15 minutes in actual court - pretty quick! There were so many people along the way that made this day possible for us - from social workers, to attorney's and staff, the support of our wonderful family and friends, and of course Jake's birthmom. We will never be able to repay her for making this selfless decision. She will always be special to us. We are so grateful to be Jake's parents.
