Swimming with the Nieces & Nephew

Friday night was Steve's Summer work party. We borrowed Zoey for the night (it worked out since Ben was at Youth Conference and Jenn had to work). Steve's niece Emily met us there with her son Maxwell and daughter Lexi. Steve's work does a Summer party, including a BBQ and free time at the AF city pool. The weather wasn't the best on Friday night but it lasted long enough for us to get an hour in at the pool. We had fun with the kids!

We've Been Married 9 Months

Steve and I celebrated being married 9 months on the 19th. It is CRAZY that we've been married that long. Time has gone so fast and I am still as happy today as I was on our wedding day. I came home from work to some beautiful Gerber Daisies. I love every time he gets me flowers...I never get tired of it.

I LOVE my Family!

This past week has been somewhat insightful on how important our relationships with family are. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I love them more than anything. My sister Jenn, her husband Ben and my cute little niece Zoey were involved in a horrible rollover accident last Friday night. They were headed to the sand dunes for the weekend with some friends. They had bought a trailer a few days before and were so excited to get out and use it. They headed out of town on Friday night. About 8 o'clock Friday night I had a call on my cell phone...since I wasn't familiar with the number I ignored it. The person calling had left a message and so I listened to it immediately after they called. I hear Sherice's voice on my message (Jenn's BFF and Sand Dunes traveling buddy) and I immediately got scared to death. She proceeds to tell me that Jenn & Ben rolled their truck and were in the process of being transported to a hospital in Nephi...as I'm listening to this message my knees are shaking and I'm absolutely freaking out! Sherice calls back while I'm listening to her message and tells me to calm down, that they seemed to be ok but they were all being taken to the hospital. Steve and I jumped in the car, picked up my mom and headed to Nephi. When we got to about Draper, Ben called and said they had just got to the hospital and that him and Zoey were fine but Jenn had some injuries and was being tested. When we arrived at the hospital it was such a relief to see Ben and Zoey sitting up in their hospital beds - Zoey was coloring. We went to the next room where Jenny was just getting back from CT - she was still strapped to the backboard and was covered in shattered glass. I helped try to remove some of the glass from her chest, face and hair but it was all over. Time went on and Jenn started feeling better.

As I think about that night, I am SO thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who was watching over them. The accident was horrible and something we don't want to ever think of being involved in, but the outcome was truly miraculous. When you think of what could have been I get completely choked up. Even though this was such a scary accident, they have so much to be grateful for. All of them were in seatbelts, as they rolled there was no oncoming traffic, they had friends close by to help and call for help and they have insurance that will help them recover financially.

Jenn, Ben & Zoey - I love you guys so much and am so grateful you are in our lives. Situations such as this make you realize how important Family is. You are truly my life and I am so thankful for you.

Here are some pictures Sherice took of the accident site:

Zoey on the Wii

We had family over the other night for dinner and Wii! It was so much fun and Zoey had a blast. She kicked all of our butts Bowling...really she did...not even joking! I grabbed my camera and took a little video of her because she was doing so good and got so excited. She actually got 4 strikes in a row!

Macey's 1st Haircut (for real)

Macey has had 2 puppy trims but this time we had her really get cut. They shaved her down to 1/2 inch. When Steve and I went to pick her up we couldn't believe she was our dog. But now, we just love her and think she is darling. Whenever we take her to be groomed they put cute bows in her hair. They normally only last about 2 hours but this time they lasted several days. She is our sweet little girl and we really adore her!

Macey Gets SICK

A few weeks ago we had to experience our little Macey getting sick. Can I just say, I'm SO glad she is better. In the middle of it...I'm thinking, what did I get myself into! Let me just say I never thought I'd be cleaning up so much poop, YUCK! Poor thing. It was so sad watching her. We left her in this tiled area for a good majority of a 2-day span because she just couldn't stop going. We had our fair share of clean-up and hope to not have to do that again for a LONG time. She had her 1st visit to the Vet - they said she had a nasty GI infection and gave her some antibiotics. We took a few pictures of her when we tried her in puppy diapers - they didn't really help though...after cleaning her several times we decided it was time to get her hair cut (I'll blog about that next.) We are SO glad her bodily functions are all back to normal!!
