Memorial Day Weekend

Steve and I spent Memorial Day Weekend in St. George, Utah. It was a nice and relaxing vacation. We had the urge to get out of town but didn't want to spend too much money so it was nice to head down South. We left on Friday afternoon after dropping our Macey off at Little Dog Resorts. I was so sad leaving her...didn't know I would ever feel that way! But she had so much fun playing with the other dogs while we were gone. We checked into our hotel that evening and went straight for the pool! Afterwards we had dinner at a Mexican restaurant - Poncho and Lefty's - it was pretty good. I had to have Nielsens Frozen Custard that night - a must when going to St. George! It was AWESOME - although I dont' think Steve will be having it anytime soon...he got really sick that night.

On Saturday, we woke up and drove to Zions National Park. It was so beautiful...it's been several years since I had been and we thought it would be fun to drive in and walk around. Well, I guess we weren't really thinking - Saturday of Memorial weekend - not the best time to want to go into Zions. It was packed and there wasn't any parking. Needless to say, we made it a driving trip only. We stopped at a Trading Post in Virgin on our way back. Steve saw the "Wild Ass Saloon" on the way in and said he had to get his picture in front of that sign. We paid $1 to go into the mini-petting zoo. On our way back to St. George we saw the mileage post to Colorado City...we were both curious and since it was only 20 miles away we took a little jaunt to Colorado City...let's just say it was interesting. The folks there live a completely different life-style than I am used to but to each is own...right?! Saturday night we drove into Mesquite Nevada and had dinner at the Casablanca hotel and casino. We hung out for awhile and played a few games then headed back to St. George.

We spent Sunday being lazy, hanginig out at our hotel, going to the pool and having some yummy dinner at Texas Roadhouse! We headed home on Monday...we were so excited to see our little Macey. We missed her the whole time but it was so nice to get away and enjoy time together.

Macey Update

Macey is getting so big. She's up to 5.5 pounds now. She had another round of shots last week. She also had her hair cut again - still just getting the puppy trim because I love all of her fluff! Macey had her 1st experience staying in doggy boarding - props to "Little Dog Resorts" who took such good care of her. She has seemed to be much more comfortable being around other people and pets now. She starts puppy preschool next week which should be good - we are having some struggles lately with the potty training...she was doing so good for awhile and she has seemed to think that going outside isn't the best thing anymore. Other than the occasional bathroom incident she is so great and fun to have around.

SOCCER!!

Zoey started Soccer this Spring. She has been so fun to watch. I've been able to go to a few of her games and it just cracks me up evertime. She's in the 2-4 age group and some of the kids are hilarious...including Zoey. Some of the time she was dancing on the field. Some of the time she was pouting cause the other kids wouldn't let her kick it. Regardless of her devotion to the game she sure gets excited when she has people cheering her on!

Macey's Haircut

Macey had her hair cut last week. They just did a quick puppy cut. They really shaved around her eyes so we could see them so much better. She came home with 2 cute pink bows in her hair...she had torn them out 2 hours later.

Mother's Day

We had GOOD times with FAMILY on Mother's Day!

I must say that I truly believe I have the best mom in the world. I feel very blessed to have the relationship that I do with her. As much as she doesn't believe it, she is a great role-model and has taught me so much about being a good person. She is such a great support to all of her kids.

I also have an AMAZING grandma. Grandma Lewis (or as Zoey would say Grama Wewis) has always been such a great example and so supportive of all her kids and grandkids. She has always been so service-oriented. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for pracitally anyone she knows...and some that she doesn't know. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents.

And here is my cute Macey with Steve. We've had Macey for over a month now and we are still in love with her. She is growing and getting so much bigger.

Pimped Out Ride in the Dubya-VC

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE living in West Valley City?! No, actually I really do love it... but I was driving home tonight and couldn't help but laugh...check out this PiMpeD out RiDe. Never thought I'd see rims like this on a mini-van.

Yep...they're totally spinners with flames. Oh, and it's a new purchase...no license plate yet. I felt bad taking pictures and hoped they didn't notice but I just had to BLOG about it. Maybe I'm weird, but I found this so hilarious.

The Dubya-VC is in da' house! Woowoo!!
