I LOVE my Family!

This past week has been somewhat insightful on how important our relationships with family are. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I love them more than anything. My sister Jenn, her husband Ben and my cute little niece Zoey were involved in a horrible rollover accident last Friday night. They were headed to the sand dunes for the weekend with some friends. They had bought a trailer a few days before and were so excited to get out and use it. They headed out of town on Friday night. About 8 o'clock Friday night I had a call on my cell phone...since I wasn't familiar with the number I ignored it. The person calling had left a message and so I listened to it immediately after they called. I hear Sherice's voice on my message (Jenn's BFF and Sand Dunes traveling buddy) and I immediately got scared to death. She proceeds to tell me that Jenn & Ben rolled their truck and were in the process of being transported to a hospital in Nephi...as I'm listening to this message my knees are shaking and I'm absolutely freaking out! Sherice calls back while I'm listening to her message and tells me to calm down, that they seemed to be ok but they were all being taken to the hospital. Steve and I jumped in the car, picked up my mom and headed to Nephi. When we got to about Draper, Ben called and said they had just got to the hospital and that him and Zoey were fine but Jenn had some injuries and was being tested. When we arrived at the hospital it was such a relief to see Ben and Zoey sitting up in their hospital beds - Zoey was coloring. We went to the next room where Jenny was just getting back from CT - she was still strapped to the backboard and was covered in shattered glass. I helped try to remove some of the glass from her chest, face and hair but it was all over. Time went on and Jenn started feeling better.

As I think about that night, I am SO thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who was watching over them. The accident was horrible and something we don't want to ever think of being involved in, but the outcome was truly miraculous. When you think of what could have been I get completely choked up. Even though this was such a scary accident, they have so much to be grateful for. All of them were in seatbelts, as they rolled there was no oncoming traffic, they had friends close by to help and call for help and they have insurance that will help them recover financially.

Jenn, Ben & Zoey - I love you guys so much and am so grateful you are in our lives. Situations such as this make you realize how important Family is. You are truly my life and I am so thankful for you.

Here are some pictures Sherice took of the accident site:

I just left a message on facebook that you can now ignore. I can't believe that happened. And that they are okay.
